You head out. I head home.

Most families leave their session and continue enjoying their vacation. Maybe it's a dinner out on the town, ice cream with the kids, or one last crab hunt on the beach. For me, the session may be over, but the work isn't.

Every Image Gets Backed Up

Before I begin reviewing photographs, everything is backed up and organized. Protecting your images is always my first priority.

The First Review

A typical beach session can contain hundreds of photographs. Not every frame is meant to be delivered.

Eyes blink, hair blows across faces, kids look away, someone is always making a funny expression.

This is where I begin narrowing everything down to the strongest moments from your session.

Building Your Gallery

This part takes more time than most people realize.

Every gallery is thoughtfully curated and edited to capture the strongest moments from your session. During this process, I'm looking for a combination of connection, expression, composition, variety, and storytelling.

Rather than delivering every frame captured, I'm selecting the images that work together to create a meaningful collection that reflects your experience on the beach. Often the images clients end up loving most aren't the ones they expected while standing on the beach.

Editing Begins

Once your gallery is selected, I begin editing each image individually.

Color correction, exposure adjustments, consistency throughout the gallery, removing distractions when appropriate, creating a final collection of images that feels complete, intentional, and uniquely yours.

While I'm Working on Your Gallery...

While editing your photographs, I'm often working on multiple galleries at once. I photograph anywhere from 4 - 7 sessions per week. I'm also responding to inquiries, preparing contracts, updating my website, creating social media content, writing blog posts, scheduling future sessions, communicating with clients, and managing the day to day responsibilities that come with running a small business.

Beach photography may happen in a single evening, but the work behind it continues long after the sand is brushed off and everyone heads home.

Gallery Delivery

The best part. This is when everything finally comes together and you get to see the finished story we created during your time on the beach.

The session itself may last 30 to 45 minutes, even an hour, but creating your final gallery is a much longer process. Every photograph delivered has been intentionally selected, edited, and prepared with care.

And honestly, that's one of my favorite parts of the job.
