A Little About Me
If you're new here, welcome. I'm really glad you found your way to this space. If you've worked with me before, this feels like a good moment to properly reintroduce myself. I'm Beth, a Destin, Florida family photographer and I specialize in relaxed, natural beach photography for families who want their photos to feel real and not stiff, forced or overly posed. (Unless of course you request it!).
I've been photographing families along the Emerald Coast for 10 years, and I've been working professionally in photography for even longer. I began my career in Louisiana after college, photographing everything from weddings and events to fundraisers and editorial work, including features for InRegister magazine in Baton Rouge. My style and business have evolved over time, but one thing has stayed the same: I care deeply about creating images that feel honest and timeless, not too trendy or performative.
A little about me (and how I work)
If you're wondering what it's actually like to work with me, here's the short version.
I give gentle direction and try to stay as calm as humanly possible. I don't typically like to rush and I don't expect perfection from kids or parents.
Beach sessions are meant to feel easy. Kids are allowed to be kids. Wind happens. Hair blows. Someone almost always ends up sandy (usually more than one person). And honestly, that's part of the magic.
My goal isn't to manufacture perfect moments, it's to notice real ones as they're happening and guide things just enough so everyone feels comfortable and confident.
Why the beach?
The beach has always felt more grounding to me. It brings people in the moment, together, barefoot, present.
I love how the beach naturally encourages movement, connection and space to breathe. No stiff backdrops, no forced smiles. Just light, movement and families being themselves.
It's also why my editing style stays natural and timeless. I want your images to still feel like you years from now. Not locked into a specific trend or filter.
Why I'm starting this blog now
I've been meaning to start this blog for a long time, but honestly, I kept overthinking how to begin. At some point I realized that I already journal regularly. I write things down to make sense of my thoughts, my work and the moments in between. This feels like an extension of that. This blog isn't about having everything perfectly figured out. It's simply a place to share what I've learned, what I notice and what matters to me; both behind the camera and in everyday life.
This space will be where I share helpful guidance for planning your beach photo session, what to expect before, during and after working together, behind the scenes moments from real sessions and honest thoughts about photography and life along the coast.
Nothing overly polished. Nothing fake. Just helpful, real and hopefully reassuring. Especially if being in front of the camera makes you a little nervous.
If you're considering a session
If you're here because you're thinking about booking family photos in Destin or along 30A, Santa Rosa beach, I hope this gives you a sense of who I am and how I work.
My approach is gentle, guided and low pressure. My goal is always for you to walk away feeling relaxed, seen and excited about the images we created together.
If you'd like to see more of my work or learn more about booking a session, feel free to explore the site or reach out. I'm always happy to answer questions.
Thanks for being here. I'm really glad you are.
